Lactation Home Visit
Tara provides assessments and support to help families thrive. She works with families who have a variety of feeding styles and needs.Tara can also help with re-lactation, nursing cessation and weaning if requested.Includes weighted feed, flange fitting, and newborn oral exam if desired. Tara will always work with you to meet YOUR goals in an open, supportive, judgement-free way.

Initial Virtual Check-in
Highly Recommended! This check in is all about getting to know a family and what newborn and feeding support might feel most helpful for them. Tara draws on her many years as a doula to help provide holistic support. This check-in can also help the lactation consultant prepare/know what supplies may be helpful to bring if parents then desire an in-person lactation visit.

Telehealth Lactation Support
Lactation support and assessment via Telehealth. Visual evaluation as able via video call, complete history taking, discussion of feeding patterns, progress and challenges. LC will provide education based on your needs and provide feeding plan and referrals if needed. The lactation consultant can also screen for issues that may require in-person contact for optimal improvement.

Telehealth Back To Work Session
If preparing to return to work and wanting to preserve the breastfeeding relationship, Tara can provide clear guidance on building a stash, maintaining supply, common pitfalls, how to meet the demands of unusual work schedules and helpful tricks to make pumping and milk storage easier

Pumping and Flange Fit Session
For parents who want support making sure they are optimizing pumping, output and comfort. The session is great for partial or exclusive pumpers or pump curious parents. This session can include pump cleaning info, operation support and milk storage guideline info.

Nursing and Sleep Session
Breastfeeding/dual feeding/pumping and feeling that sleep is illusive? Learn about normal newborn sleep behavior and helpful vs unhelpful techniques to promote optimal rest for mom and baby without sacrificing your milk supply.

Introducing a Bottle & Bottle Rejection Support
Many parents would like more support in choosing and introducing bottles whether that is to supplement a breastfeeding baby or to enable family members to provide nourishment. Introducing a bottle too soon can sometimes cause bottle preference. Sometimes breastfed babies initially reject a bottle if introduced after the one month mark. Gain support finding methods and bottle feeding supplies that work for you!

Oral Function Assessment
In-person only. Concerned that your newborn may be experiencing an oral restriction such as a lip or tongue tie? During an in-person lactation visit, Tara can screen for possible signs and symptoms and provide an oral function assessment. Based on assessment Tara may recommend/provide referral to an ENT, pediatric dentist or pediatric osteopath for further assessment and treatment.
